1. I have the time and dedication to serve the citizens of District 98 and very much want the state to go in a more positive direction.

2. The business climate in Maine must be improved to keep current businesses and attract new ones to help the economy. I believe state agencies need to be held more accountable for performance. I also believe the state can not be all things to all people and that priority decisions need to be made.

3. In my four years in Augusta, I have observed that the state tries to be all things to all people. Priorities are not established, programs and services are not evaluated adequately and there is little accountability in state agencies. TABOR will force the development of priorities and a more accountable government.

4. I do not approve of discrimination but we need to be very careful how we write anti-discrimination laws to avoid creating additional problems. I do not believe in abortion except in the cases of rape, incest and endangering the health of the mother.

5. Dirigo Health has been a very expensive experiment with little of the promised success. The state should not be in the health insurance business. I support allowing an open market so other insurance companies are able to offer their products and, through competition, bring costs down. High risk pools would help.
