FARMINGTON – A Farmington man was arrested Friday after allegedly trying to pawn a laptop stolen from a local student at a store in New Hampshire.

Luke Lancaster, 29, of Farmington was arrested in Bethlehem, N.H., after trying to pawn the computer, which a University of Maine at Farmington student had reported stolen earlier last week, Farmington police Lt. Jack Peck said Monday.

The student made the report after coming home from a weekend away and finding her laptop missing, Peck said. When New Hampshire police called the Farmington department, Farmington police verified the laptop in New Hampshire was the one that had been stolen, Peck said.

On Friday, Farmington police got an arrest warrant and drove to New Hampshire to pick Lancaster up and return him to Maine. He had waived extradition, Peck said.

Lancaster was charged with class B burglary.
