PARIS – The Maine State Police are investigating a child molestation case involving two young girls.
Clark Gadway, 46, of 896 Edes Falls Road in Harrison, was arrested Saturday on two charges of gross sexual assault, both Class A felonies. The unemployed man is accused of assaulting the girls, who were under the age of 14. A family member notified police, State Police Detective Terrance James said. The time and location of the assaults were not released.
Gadway appeared at 11th District Court on Monday, where a judge ruled that he could not have contact with the girls, their families or any child under age 16. He is also barred from seeing his two biological children unless supervised. He is not allowed to go to the victims’ homes, places of work or school.
Gadway is married, court records show.
Gadway was initially held at $20,000 bail, but at Monday’s court proceeding the bail was reduced to $15,000 cash or real estate. He was bailed Monday afternoon, jail officials said.
The case is still under investigation, James said.
