PERU – By a vote of 465-237, residents Tuesday approved changing the town’s fiscal year to a July 1 to June 30 system to coincide with the school year.

The Finance Committee did not back the change from a calendar year, but according to Chairman Bill Hine, selectmen chose to put it on the warrant because of a cash flow problem with the school year being different from the town.
