JAY -Two Farmington men were charged with cocaine possession Friday night, after police responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle in an old woodlot off Alden Hill Road.

Christopher Nault, 38, and his brother, Ernest Nault, 36, were arrested and each was charged with possession cocaine, police Detective Richard Caton IV said Tuesday.

Christopher Nault was also charged with operating after suspension and violation of bail conditions of release, Caton said. He didn’t know what the prior crime was, he said.

Ernest Nault was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of methadone, he said.

Caton said he found the vehicle with three occupants, all of whom had suspended licenses, and were considered habitual offenders. The third person, a Wilton woman, was not arrested or charged, he said.

He checked on Christopher Nault and found an active Oxford County warrant for him alleging failing to comply with a contempt of court order, Caton said.

After arresting Christopher Nault and doing a search, Caton said 11.6 grams of bagged cocaine was found, with about a $1,100 street value.

The older Nault was put in the cruiser and his younger brother, Ernest was searched, Caton said.

About 4.5 grams of bagged cocaine was found and a prescription bottle of methadone with no name on the bottle, the detective said.

“We did find a crack pipe in his sock,” Caton said, who was assisted by officer Russell Adams on the case.

A search of the vehicle revealed a razor blade and a spoon, drug paraphernalia, Caton said.

The two were taken to Franklin County jail in Farmington and have a court date scheduled Dec. 21.

Ernest Nault was released on $150 cash bail on Nov. 3 and Christopher Nault was released Nov. 7 on $3,000 cash bail, a corrections officer said.
