CONCORD, N.H. (AP) – Ahunter was injured in a shooting accident Wednesday, the opening day of New Hampshire’s firearm season for deer.

Authorities said Henry Currier, 59, of Boscawen was with a group of five friends Wednesday morning when he was hit by a member of his hunting party. The stray pellet from a 12-gauge shotgun hit him in the ribcage.

Currier, who was wearing the recommended “blaze orange,” was treated at the hospital and released.
