LEWISTON – Bedard Medical Equipment and Supplies of Lewiston will continue its support of SeniorsPlus Meals on Wheels program through the Lewiston MAINEiacs Chuck a Puck program. Chuck a Puck at the MAINEiacs hockey games is sponsored by Bedard. The fundraising efforts will launch at the Friday, Nov. 10, Maineiacs game.

MAINEiacs fans will be able to purchase a Chuck a Puck for $1, and 100 percent of the proceeds will be donated to Meals on Wheels.

Throughout the MAINEiacs season, other nonprofits will be able to raise money for their organization, with 75 percent of money raised going toward their nonprofit and 25 percent going toward the Bedard Medical Equipment and Supplies sponsored Meals on Wheels program.

Last spring, Bedard sponsored the Meals on Wheels truck drive to raise money needed to purchase a delivery truck.

“The support the community gave our Meals on Wheels truck drive initiative proved so successful that we are committed to continue to help those served by this program. Our Chuck a Puck program with the MAINEiacs is just another way the community can continue to help as well,” said Annette Nadeau, owner of Bedard Medical Equipment and Supplies.

For thousands of Maine senior citizens, a daily visit from a volunteer delivering Meals on Wheels keeps them part of the community and comfortable in familiar surroundings. SeniorsPlus delivers Meals on Wheels throughout Androscoggin, Oxford and Franklin counties.
