The people of Maine have voted. The majority decided that being one of the highest taxed states in the nation is not a bad thing. In fact, elected officials should keep it up.
Not only that, but they need to increase the taxes by spending even more on new, and existing, social programs.
Unaffordable health care was not an issue in the voting booth, either. Voters decided the governor’s taxpayer-supported health care program (Dirigo Health) is good enough as well.
Is it any wonder Maine people are thought to be backward?
