The people of Maine have spoken, and the majority made their choice to reject the Taxpayer Bill of Rights and re-elect Gov. John Baldacci for a second term.
Good job, people of Maine. They sent a great message to the rest of the country, proving that Mainers are not that bright.
First, let’s reject a system that would reduce wasteful spending. I see it every day in the town of Mechanic Falls. People should look at what some of the town employees are making each year. It’s rather shocking, to say the least.
Second, voters put a governor back in office who owes the state’s hospitals more than $400 million, and continues to spend out of control.
I used his failed health care system, Dirigo, for five months, and it was not affordable like the ads say.
I can understand that most people are upset with the president and wanted Democrats to win. But to re-elect someone that I wouldn’t let balance my checkbook or trust with my bank card?
The voters of Maine should be ashamed. They sent a strong message to young people, proving once again that Maine will not be a state in which to stay.
