AUBURN – Romance, science fiction, fantasy, westerns and popular fiction, as well as books on gardening, cooking, travel, religion, philosophy, self-help and psychology, along with hundreds of books for children, will be on sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at Auburn Public Library’s Big Book Sale.

Some 10,000 volumes have been sorted and readied for purchase by Friends of the APL. They want to re-establish the annual book sale, with proceeds to support the library’s collections, services and programs.

The sale will take place in the library’s ground floor Androscoggin Community and Friends Rooms, accessible from the Spring Street entrance.

Priced to sell, the thousands of books are the result of donations from the public. Tom Hutchins of Auburn chairs the sales, assisted by Mary Sylvester, chairwoman of the Friends group, and many other Friends and members of the public. Among them are Connie Bedette, Carol Seward, Susan Trefsger, Betsy Hutchins, Susan Spellman, Bonnie Ross and Sarah Andersen.

For more information on the sale, call the Auburn Public Library at 333-6640.
