Seniors meal

AUBURN – The First Auburn Senior Citizens will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at Martindale Country Club for a Thanksgiving luncheon. The doors will open at 11 a.m. Entertainment will be provided by Four on a Match of Quartet Region 1 Sweet Adeline International.

The club met Nov. 1 at Hasty Community Center with 77 present. New member Nellie Tidwell was introduced. “Happy Birthday” was sung to those with birthdays in November. Attendance winners were Sylvia Thibodeau and George Remillard; pot of gold,Caroline Chapman, George Brainerd and Nellie Tidwell. Special drawing winners were Norma Masse, Joyce Poole, Nancy Roy, Dick Brushwein, Pat Edwards, Rita Gagnon, Letha Haggerty. Bingo was played after lunch.

Look good

LEWISTON – Look Good … Feel Better, the American Cancer Society’s program for assisting women who are faced with appearance changes resulting from cancer treatment, will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Nov. 15, at Central Maine Medical Center’s Sam and Jennie Bennett Breast Care Center, 12 High Street, Suite 103.

OES guests

LISBON FALLS – Pioneer Chapter 11, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, the Masonic Hall, Route 196. Past Grand Matron Alice Webber and Worthy Matron Debra Greim will perform a musical Star Point ceremony. The Grand Star Points will be special guests. Following the meeting, there will be a pie auction benefiting Pioneer Chapter’s scholarship fund. Refreshments will be served after the meeting.

Holiday service

DURHAM – A Thanksgiving service for all faiths will held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, at the Shiloh Chapel off Route 125. A free will offering will be taken at the door. Donations of nonperishable foods will be taken during the service. For more information, call Debbie at 353-6925.

Seniors dinner

MONMOUTH – Monmouth Lions Club will host a free senior citizens Thanksgiving dinner at noon Sunday, Nov. 19, at the Cottrell School. Residents of Leeds, Wales, Litchfield and Monmouth are invited. There will be door prizes. Call 933-2220 to make reservations.

Giving Tree

DURHAM – Gift tags will be available for the Giving Tree on Monday, Nov. 27, at the following places: Durham Town Office, Lisbon Library and Lisbon High School.

The following churches will also have tags: Holy Trinity, St. Matthews and the Lisbon United Methodist Church. Tags will need to be returned on or before Friday, Dec. 15, in Durham; Saturday, Dec. 16, Lisbon Library; and Sunday, Dec. 17, all churches.

Rotary dinner

WINTHROP – The Winthrop Rotary Club is sponsoring Thanksgiving dinner at St. Francis Parish Hall on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23. The free dinner, open to all, will be served from 12:30 to 1 p.m. To assist in preparing the meal, sign-up sheets will be available at Hot Meals Kitchen at St. Francis Paris Hall, Winthrop Food Pantry and a message may also be left at 377-4724 with the information.
