LEWISTON – The November Great Falls Forum speaker will be peace activist Bruce Gagnon.

Gagnon will speak at 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Marsden Hartley Cultural Center, Lewiston Public Library.

His talk, “The Necessity for Conversion of the Military-Industrial Complex,” will look at the costly war in Iraq and the use of space technology to direct modern warfare, and will offer his vision for ending America’s addiction to endless war.

Gagnon is a Vietnam-era veteran and coordinator of the Global Network Against Weapons & Nuclear Power in Space. He has spoken in many places around the world, including Europe, Mexico, Canada, Cuba, Japan and Australia. He led civil liberties campaigns in Gainesville, Fla., and was successful in getting the Alachua County Commission to pass a resolution opposing the Patriot Act. He is also a member of Veterans for Peace.

Lunch is $7 with preregistration. Make reservations by calling Jeanne Lachance at 689-2843 on or before Tuesday, Nov. 14.
