FARMINGTON – The NorthStar Advisory Board plans to announce a new funding formula today, which the board thinks is the fairest option for all the communities in the ambulance service’s coverage area.

According to a Franklin Memorial Hospital news release, the board reviewed hundreds of formulas before coming up with one they think will fairly allocate the cost of the running the service.

“The formula (chosen) is a single, regionalized formula,” NorthStar Executive Director David Robie said Monday. “We want the people that we serve to be comfortable (knowing) that NorthStar is doing the best for them.”
