Holly Fair

RANGELEY – The Barn of the Congregational Church on High Street will be full of gift and holiday items as the church holds its annual Holly Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18.

The fair will feature crafts, dried arrangements, decorative angels, items made by the men of the church as well as a food sale and a cookie walk.

The women of the church have been meeting throughout the year to create items for the sale. There will also be home-stitched aprons, knitted, crocheted and quilted pieces and dried arrangements.

There will be a Santa’s Seconds Table featuring interesting previously owned articles along with a Snowman Table and again this year, Reindeer Dust.

The senior class at Rangeley Lakes Regional School will again prepare and serve their special homemade luncheon from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. as a fundraiser for their class trip.

Church service

FARMINGTON – Henderson Memorial Baptist Church invites all to worship at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 19. Pastor Susan Crane’s sermon will be “Now Thank We All Our God.”

The children will help lead the praise songs. The church is located at the corner of Main and Academy streets. Sunday school for all ages is offered at 9 a.m.

Club speaker

FARMINGTON – The Mt. Blue Area Garden Club will meet Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Route 2. The meeting will begin at 12:30 p.m. with a social half hour followed by the guest speaker, Robin Jordan, at 1 p.m.

Jordan is the owner of the local nursery, Robin’s Flower Pot, and will talk about introductions of annuals, perennials and shrubs. A business meeting will follow. All garden club meetings are free and open to the public.

Society meeting

CARTHAGE – The Carthage Historical Society will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21. Following a potluck supper, Paul Taitt of Magic Touch Images on Main Street, Wilton, will show how he restores old faded and damaged photos. He also prints photos on T-shirts, mouse pads and coffee mugs. All are welcome and each may bring a photo they would like to have restored or copied.

Pantry open

PHILLIPS – The Phillips Food Pantry will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, to distribute food and Thanksgiving baskets. Those who would like a basket may call Madeline Haines at 639-3366 or Evelyn Wilbur at 369-4287. The pantry serves residents from Avon, Phillips and Madrid and is located in the basement of the Methodist Church. It will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 28.
