DIXFIELD – Security issues for business people will be the topic of a meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, in the Ludden Library Community Room. The Dixfield Economic Development Council and the Dixfield Police Department area sponsoring the gathering to help businesses and police share information about their security concerns and how they may be alleviated.

All Dixfield business owners and managers are invited and attend to learn how businesses and the police department can work together for a more secure business climate.

The Economic Council is working on a regular update of business listings on the Dixfield Web site. Those who are listed are being contacted to make corrections. It is important since the 911 address changes and the addition of web sites and e-mail information.

Those who have been contacted are reminded that they must respond by Nov. 16 or the council will assume it is no longer a valid listing and will remove it from the site.

If any business has not been contacted, they should call the Town Office at 562-8151 or Norine Clarke at 562-8816 to receive a form for the information needed. Single listings are free; multiple listings in other categories are $5 each.

The kiosk project is progressing and there are still openings for listings on the structure, which has been placed on the village green. Those who have not been contacted and who would like to be included on this sign may call Norine for an application. Cost is a one-time fee of $60.

Participation in the project will help make tourists and locals aware of a business and how to locate it.
