AUBURN – Irma L. Spencer, 91, a resident of Barker Arms, died Friday, Nov. 17, at Clover Nursing Home.

She was born on July 5, 1915, in Sabattus, the daughter of Gerald L. and Louise M. (Springer) Spencer.

She was a 1933 graduate of Edward Little High School. She then attended Bliss Business College.

She worked for many years as a secretary at Continental Mill and Lewiston Gas & Light Co.

She was a member of Court Street Baptist Church.

She enjoyed the outdoors and especially going to the “farm” to nature watch. She also enjoyed spending time with her sister, Flora, who recently moved back to Maine and also resides at Clover. She had many great moments doing genealogy research with her special great-niece, Melodye Brousseau.

She is survived by her sister, Flora Bolesta; nephews, Spencer Bolesta, Robert and his wife, Evelyn Spencer, Ralph and his wife, Connie Spencer, and Ronald Spencer; cousin, David Small and his wife, Dot; nieces, Karlene and her husband, Walter Ward, Rhonda Brainard, and Kristine and husband, Ray Hilts; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Ralph, Clarence and Carl Spencer; cousin, Julia Brown; and nephew, Donald Spencer.

Irma’s family would like to thank Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice and Clover Nursing Home, Side 2, for their special care of Irma.
