Lewiston-Auburn Rotary inducts new member

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club has grown by another new member. Induction ceremonies were held on Nov. 2 to welcome Kellie DeMers into the club.

DeMers is development director for the Auburn Public Library. She lives in Gray with her husband, Frank, and son, Matthew. DeMers also offers her time to the Kennebec Council of Girl Scouts, is secretary/treasurer of the Gray Region Citizen Corps, is a musician for Sacred Heart Church in Auburn, golf scramble co-chairwoman for Trinity Catholic PTO and is a soccer coach for her son’s Gray Rec League team.

DeMers was sponsored into the Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club by longtime Rotarian Bethel Shields.

The Lewiston-Auburn club is dedicated to raising funds in order to benefit the community in a variety of ways. Annually the club distributes six $1,000 scholarships to local students pursuing higher education and awards grants in varying amounts to nonprofit organizations.
