Life has changed. It’s no longer the simple things in life that count. An amusement park is no longer a field of grass to play in, but a paved palace of steel and electronics.

When I wonder about what has happened, I figure that it’s for the best. But then again, what about the poor animals and peaceful environments that have been sacrificed, against their will, for our convenience. In Auburn, there use to be a giant tree which stood gracefully among the roads and pollution. But one day, on our way to Wal-Mart, we passed the trees usual place, but instead of that large tree, we passed staring at a vacant lot. A year or two later, we pass the small lot and looking back at us are two restaurants and a new parking lot.

I’m not trying to say that improvement is distasteful; I would just like to reach out to the community and ask, “Why litter, when a trash can is never too far away? Why pollute when a solution is on its way?” Do you get my message? Do you understand?
