Interview of Keragann Rainey and Lucy Knowlton

We should not have SSR says Keragann Rainey, we already have to read 20-30 minutes at home and having a half hour of reading when you could be doing your homework from your two morning classes is not the best use of time. We should have that time to chat or add it on to your study hall. It is waste of time. About 75-80 percent of students don’t read anyways and the time could be spent on learning new things or expanding on something you already know. I think we should be able to use our laptops in SSR so we could do our home work.

On the other hand, Lucy Knowlton looks at the positive view of SSR. She feels a lot of kids have activities during SSR like band, chorus, Academic Advocate, student council, drama club and civil rights. A lot of kids do not even have an SSR and they are hardly ever at SSR.

Lucy Knowlton thinks that it is a very relaxing thing and you would be relaxed for the second half of the day.
