Craft fair
NORWAY – Fare Share craft fair and bake sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at the Fare Share Commons, Main Street. It will feature crafters, artists and artisans from the Fare Share community. Items will include pottery, homespun yarn, knit items, jewelry and handmade cards.
Club supper
OXFORD – There will be a roast beef supper at the Rock-O-Dundee Rider’s clubhouse, Paine Road, East Oxford, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2. The menu will be roast beef, mashed potato, peas, carrots, rolls, homemade pies and a beverage. Price will be $6.50 for adults and $3, under 12. For more information, call 539-2616.
Christmas tea
BETHEL – A Christmas Fair and Tea will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at the West Parish Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, Church Street, following the Taste of Bethel and craft show at Telstar High School.
The event will include traditional Christmas tea, a cookie walk, handcrafted items and decorations, wreaths and arrangements, fair traded products, including coffee and chocolate, plus homebaked goodies.
Coloring contest
NORWAY – The Norway Business Association is conducting the Christmas window decorating contest for 2006. Voting will be done by independent judges. The decorating contest began Nov. 20 and will continue through Friday, Dec. 22. This year’s parade theme is “Head for the Hills…The Hills of Western Maine.”
Blood drive
NORWAY – Stephens Memorial Hospital will hold a blood drive from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, to benefit the Maine Blood Center. The drive will be held in the Harper Conference Center, Ripley Medical Arts Building, Stephens Memorial Hospital. Call Mike Rolfe at 743-5933, ext. 432, to make an appointment
All blood collected at the drive is kept at the hospital or sent to other local hospitals for use. Those who donate should bring a photo ID, drink plenty of fluids and eat a nutritious meal before donating.
Public forum
BROWNFIELD – A public forum on “Creative Economy” will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, at Stone Mountain Arts Center, 695 Dugway Road. It is sponsored by the Route 113 Corridor Committee, Western Maine Cultural Alliance and Stone Mountain Arts Center.
Sunday service
FARMINGTON – Everyone is invited to a service of praise for Christ the King Sunday at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 26. Sunday school classes for all ages are offered at 9 a.m. The church is located on the corner of Academy and Main streets.
CPR training
SALEM – SAD 58 Adult and Community Education will offer an American Heart Association (child, adult and infant) first aid and CPR training from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Mt. Abram High School. The training will be held on one day only for certification upon successful completion. The instructor will be Penny Salm.
Students must register in advance and will want to wear comfortable clothing and bring a lunch or snacks. Class size is limited to a maximum of 12 participants and the cost of the course is $65 a student and includes the book.

Seniors lunch
BETHEL – Members of the Bethel Senior Citizens Club will have a Christmas luncheon of marinated roast pork and the fixings at a Christmas party at the Bethel Inn from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13.
Members may bring guests, who will be charged a non-member fee. However, reservations for members and guests must be made by Wednesday, Nov. 29, by calling Dorothy York at 824-2093 or Mary Paine at 824-2822.
Members are asked to arrive by 11 a.m. when the Banjo Band will entertain. Following the noon luncheon, a “special Santa” will entertain and distribute gifts while the band continues to play.
Members and guests are asked to bring a $5 wrapped gift, marked woman or man, for Santa to distribute.
VFW meeting
LEWISTON – The Longley-Dionne Post 9150, VFW, will meet at noon Sunday, Nov. 26, at the Lewiston Lodge of Elks, 1675 Lisbon St. All officers and members are encouraged to attend.
The agenda includes presentation of Voice of Democracy and Patriot Pen scholarship awards.
Giving Tree tags
BOWDOIN – The Bowdoin Community Giving Tree tags will be available at Bowdoin Central School on Monday, Nov. 27. The community project provides items for the children of Bowdoin for Christmas. Puppy classes
AUBURN – Great Falls Dog Obedience Club will start another six-week dog obedience class Wednesday, Nov. 29, in Auburn. Beginner classes will be held at 6:30 p.m. and advanced at 7:30.

‘Give ’em pickles’
AUBURN – The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will present “Give ’em the Pickle!” (CCS 015-01) from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Dec. 8. The cost of the workshop is $85, including materials.
The program will help customer service representatives, store clerks and wait staff sharpen their customer service skills.
