CRAFTSBURY, Vt. (AP) – A fire of undetermined origin tore through a camp, killing a 22-year-old man asleep inside, authorities said Thursday.

Adam Poquette, of Champlain, N.Y., died in the fire, Vermont State Police said.

The blaze broke out late Wednesday in a wooden cabin on Town Line Road and had fully engulfed the building by the time Craftsbury Fire Department members arrived, State Police said in a news release. The building was destroyed.

Several people had been asleep inside when the fire started and they escaped, but Poquette was missing.

A body believed to be Poquette’s was recovered from the wreckage, and an autopsy is planned to confirm his identity, State Police said in a news release. Further information wasn’t immediately available Thursday.
