LEWISTON – Elaine Brewer of Auburn, employed by OneBeacon Insurance Co. of Portland, was recently named Rookie of the Year for the National Association of Insurance Women Maine Council.

The award recognizes excellence among those who have been a member of the NAIW for less than two years. Among the criteria considered in conferring the award are the candidate’s participation in association activities, involvement in insurance industry education programs, and activities undertaken in the community.

Brewer will compete at the regional level. The nine regional winners compete at the national level, with the national Rookie of the Year awarded $500 and a clock at the NAIW national convention held each June.
