ORONO – The University of Maine women’s basketball team improved to 3-1 with a convincing 62-51 victory over Brown in the opening round of the Dead River Company Classic.

Bracey Barker led the Black Bears with 14 points and seven rebounds. Ashely Underwood chipped in 10 points, while dishing out five assists.

Maine led 33-21 at halftime and never let Brown within 10 points for the remainder of the game.

Maine will face Clemson tonight for the championship.
