OXFORD – The turkeys have all been consumed, which means that it’s officially the time of year to buy stuff.
Three Christmas crafters took their businesses to the sides of Route 26 Friday to sell goods to passers-by.
In front of the Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Tammy Gamache set up a stand to sell wreaths with her daughters Kristen and Brittina.
Gamache said she put together about 200 wreaths for the holiday season. This was her first year making them, she said.
Outside Shaner’s Restaurant in Paris, Mike Dean stood selling birdhouses and replica logging sleds with candles.
Dean said he builds the crafts out of barn boards, and sells them on road sides and at craft fairs.
Set up next to Dean, Floyd Pike Jr. of Stoneham sold kissing balls.
He makes them with his wife, Amy Barker-Pike.
The two strive to make the decorations look Maine-made. They are decorated with pine cones from the Fryeburg fairgrounds, and are topped with red ribbon.
“Cones and berries, that’s Maine,” Floyd Pike said.
