AUBURN – The handbell program at the United Methodist Church of Auburn will begin its series of Christmas performances at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, with the church’s annual “Songs and Sounds of the Season” Concert.

The program will be held at the church on Park Avenue and will include two handbell groups, the Wesleyan Singers vocal choir and several instrumental soloists. The music to be performed will include traditional sacred and secular Christmas music.

Following the concert, a pie social will be offered in the church fellowship hall. A free will offering will be collected.

On Saturday, Dec. 2, the handbell ensemble, 4 Park Avenue, will perform from 1 to 3 p.m. in the L.L. Bean flagship store in Freeport. The group consists of four members of the Auburn Methodist Ringers who perform without a conductor.

The Auburn Methodist Ringers will join the Androscoggin Chorale for their concerts at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at the South Paris First Congregational Church and at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, in Lewiston’s Franco-American Heritage Center.
