CASCO – A fire in South Casco Saturday night damaged the main sawmill building of Red Mill Lumber on Route 302.

According to WCSH-TV’s Web site, the Casco Fire Department responded to the fire at 11:30 p.m. Firefighters were able to keep flames from spreading outside of the main sawmill, where the fire caused the roof to cave in.

Casco firefighters were assisted by crews from Naples, Raymond, Otisfield and Poland.

Officials from the State Fire Marshal’s Office were investigating the cause of the fire Sunday.
