The governor wants to hear and talk with citizens about tax reform, according to recent comments in the press. We all would like to talk with the governor, yet it appears – just like the legislature – he doesn’t have a clue.

This governor and legislature are best described by Malcolm S. Forbes: “It’s so much easier to suggest solutions when one doesn’t know too much about the problem.”

Could it be possible the governor and legislature have never lived on a day-by-day, week-to-week budget going without to help pay for those spending urges and splurges by state and local government?

The governor ought to tell the truth, as we all know why the Taxpayer Bill of Rights went down: way too many didn’t want to budget, and tighten their belts on those bloated guts. Maine’s problem stems from too many in the legislature aren’t what they say they are: in favor of meaningful tax reform

The governor’s reform with token handouts are just not going to do it. Is it going to take a real revolution against taxation to open this governor’s and Legislature’s closed eyes?

Are we talking yet, governor?
