SABATTUS – With its town charter approved by voters, Sabattus has asked the Maine Municipal Association to help it hire a town manager.
The town also plans to hold a workshop to discuss the new road foreman position.
Town Administrator Tracy Fabrizio said the town has decided that once a town manager is named it would be best to have a working road foreman instead of a road commissioner.
The town also announced that it is having difficulties finding a janitorial company to clean the town office and police headquarters. The town will not award a contract unless the bidder is insured.
In other matters, selectmen are starting to work with Skelton, Taintor and Abbott, an Auburn law firm, as the town prepares to write articles to appear on next year’s annual town warrant.
