The Western Maine Boys Basketball League (Grades 5-6) began a new season during the weekend.

Auburn Rec edged North Franklin 34-30 as Tyler Cabrel and Colby Sturtevant each netted 6 points. Calvin Dixon paced Franklin with 12. Colby Wheaton added 8.

Farmington got balanced scoring in nipping Wilton Rec 25-21.

Lewiston Rec turned back Oxford Hills 45-28 as Steven Patrie and Ryan Rossignol each collected 9 points. J. Frechette led OH with 5. D. Frechette added 4.

Mountain Valley Rec rolled to an 82-24 triumph over AYS of Jay-Livermore. Dylan Akers torched the nets for 28 points. Ryan Nichols added 14. Nathan Hamblin tallied 14 and Chad Bamford and Hunter Kilgore added 4 each.

There was no report of the game between Turner and Lisbon Rec.
