LEWISTON – Advocates for Children has announced that Deborah Potter-Cashman is the recipient of the 2006 Community Service Award.

Annually for the last 14 years, AFC has recognized a member of the community who has worked to reduce child abuse.

Potter-Cashman is an assistant district attorney who, in recent years, has handled many cases involving children who have been abused, both physically and sexually.

As an advocate, Potter-Cashman stands up for children who have been victimized. She was recently recognized by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for her prosecution of a local man who sexually assaulted two young children.
