WEST DOVER, VT. (AP) – Search teams using off-road vehicles were deployed Saturday night after receiving a report of a missing private airplane that was supposed to land at Mt. Snow Airport, authorities said.
Wilmington Fire Chief Troy Johnson said his agency received a report about 8:30 p.m. that the plane was missing. Johnson did not know the exact type of plane, but said it was a twin-engine propellor aircraft. Johnson also didn’t know how many people were onboard.
He said teams from three fire departments and two police departments were searching the area around the airport in freezing weather. The Civil Air Patrol also was called to aid in the search.
