PARIS – Three men accused of burglarizing a residence struck plea agreements in Oxford County Superior Court Monday.

William Kangas, 21, of Greenwood, Kevin Litchfield, 18, of Oxford, and Jonathon Stevens, 21, of West Paris were each sentenced to six months in the county jail, all suspended, and ordered to pay varying amounts of restitution.

A fourth person involved in the case, Aaron Heath, 18, of Hebron, is expected in court on Dec. 15.

The break-ins occurred around March 22 at the home of Everett Chase of 24 Alcohol Mary Road in Greenwood. Chase was incarcerated in the Oxford County Jail at the time, and is still in custody.

One of Chase’s relatives reported the burglary. Oxford County Sheriff’s Office Cpl. Chancy Libby said he went to investigate the situation, and saw Heath’s truck parked in the driveway.

Libby said most of the items stolen were tools. The stolen goods, worth about $2,000, were enough to fill the back of two police cruisers.

The three appearing Monday all were originally charged with felonies, but after the plea agreements ended up pleading guilty to misdemeanors.

Kangas pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of criminal trespassing, theft and criminal mischief. Litchfield pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal trespassing, two counts of theft and one count of criminal mischief. Stevens pleaded guilty to criminal trespassing, theft and criminal mischief.
