LEWISTON – Nor’easter Maine Chapter, M.I. Lodge to meet

AUBURN – Ancient Brothers Lodge 178, AF and AM, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St. The meeting will be preceded by a smothered beef supper at 6:30 p.m. All Masonic members are welcome.

DAR party

NEW GLOUCESTER – The Mary Dillingham Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will hold its meeting and Christmas party at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, at the home of Regent Carol MacNeill, 790 Bald Hill Road. Fortier Chapter

AUBURN – The Dr. Paul Fortier Chapter 52, Association Canado-Americaine, has announced its annual Christmas banquet will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, at the Panda Garden Restaurant, Center Street.

Entertainment will be provided by singers Paul and Gil Farrell and Aliette Couturier. All who plan to attend should sign up before Friday, Dec. 15, by calling chapter member Cecile Rodrigue at 783-7461.

Turkey raffle

AUBURN – VFW Post 1603, 588 Minot Ave., will hold a turkey raffle at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, to raise money for the annual children’s Christmas party. OES initiation

LISBON FALLS – Pioneer Chapter 11, Order of the Eastern Star, will hold a special meeting for initiation at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at the Lisbon Falls Masonic Hall. The guest officers will be Majority Rainbow Girls who have gone on to distinguish themselves in Eastern Star.

The afternoon will begin with a soup and salad lunch for $5, and reservations for the lunch should be made with Pioneer Chapter’s secretary. All members of the order are invited to attend.

Breastfeeding

AUBURN – Expectant women and breastfeeding mothers are invited to the La Leche League meeting at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, at 102 Bennett Ave. Babies are always welcome. This month’s discussion will focus on “Breastfeeding: The Mother-Baby Relationship, and the Weaning Process.”

All concerns about breastfeeding are welcome for discussion. For breastfeeding help, directions to the meeting or if weather is stormy, call the La Leche League leader at 782-6645.

Meal, toys

LEWISTON – Hope Haven Gospel Mission will provide a free Christmas dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Christmas Day, Dec. 25, at 209 Lincoln St. The meal will be available to the shut-ins as well. Those who are shut in and need delivery should call 783-6086.

The Hope Haven Mission is accepting toys and games for distribution to needy families with children on Thursday, Dec. 21, and on Christmas Day. For more information, call the mission at 783-6086.

Student performs

WATERVILLE – Katherine Mayo, a junior at St. Dominic Regional High School and daughter of Rebecca Wyke of Augusta, is a member of the Enchore Company of Kennebec Dance Center.

She performed on Nov. 17 in a Thomas College demonstration. Mayo performed a number to “Panic at the Disco’s Song” with a fellow Enchore member, Matthew Begin. The duet was chosen by their instructors and director out of a company of 55 high school dancers to represent the group.

Craft show

AUBURN – Creative Trails, a nonprofit community-based day habilitation program of Support Solutions that works with individuals with developmental disabilities, will hold a holiday craft show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at 1146 Minot Ave. For more information, call Alice Nelder at 783-8300.

Bridge play

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Dec. 5 were: first, Nancy Lindgren and Les Buzzell; second, Shirley West and Patricia Smith; third, Rosemarie Goodwin and Paul Sherman; fourth, Jeanine Kivus and Lorry Letourneau; first in B, Lucille Bilodeau and Alberta Turner; second in B, Marta Clements and Nancy Farmer.

Winners at Schooner Estates in Auburn on Dec. 6 were: first, Martine Begert and Patricia Garcia; second, Les Buzzell and John Hackett; third, Sherrie Hinckley and Fred Letourneau; fourth, Jeanine Kivus and David Lock; first in B, Larry Fortier and Roger Briggs.

Games are played at 9 a.m. Tuesdays and 7 p.m. Wednesdays and a partner is guaranteed. Call Rosemarie at 783-1734 for information about all duplicate bridge games.
