AUBURN – Kaleb Violet scored a game-high 26 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to lead CMCC in a 81-65 win over EMCC in men’s college basketball.

Josh Gilson scored 14 points and Dave Labonte added 10 for the Mustangs, who improved their record to 8-5. Joe Willett led EMCC (3-6) with 21 pionts while Mike Towle and Josh Madden combined for 22.

Women’s basketball

CMCC 75, EMCC 60

AUBURN – Amanda Webb led CMCC with 16 points as the Mustangs downed EMCC 75-60 in women’s college basketball.

Michelle Parent turned in a gutsy performance, scoring 10 points in her first game back from a knee injury. Marci Moors, Jackie Moors and Kerri Harris also registered double figures for CMCC, combining for 36 points, while Desiree Brackett pulled down 10 rebounds.

The win improves the Mustangs to 4-2 on the season.

Christina Scoville and Amanda Sloat paced EMCC (2-5) with 19 and 15 points, respectively.

Bowdoin 66, Colby-Sawyer 48

NEW LONDON, N.H. – Top-ranked Bowdoin College women’s basketball team overcame early shooting struggles to pull away for a 66-48 victory over previously-unbeaten Colby-Sawyer.

The game was a rematch of last year’s NCAA tourney game won by the Polar Bears (7-0).

Bowdoin shot 29 percent in the first half and trailed 13-6 six minutes into the game. But Katie Cummings scored eight points during a 10-point spurt, culminating with a 3-pointer to give Bowdoin a 16-13 lead with 11:30 to play. Bowdoin never trailed the rest of the way.

Eileen Flaherty led Bowdoin with 16 points, while Cummings finished with a season-high of 12. Noelle Surette scored a game-high 17 points for the Chargers.
