AUBURN – The Auburn-Lewiston Rotary Breakfast Club has donated $1,000 to the Catholic Charities Maine SEARCH (Seek Elderly Alone, Renew Courage and Hope) program.

The funds will help the agency provide heating assistance to SEARCH clients.

The club is able to make this and more than $30,000 in other contributions to local organizations because of its fundraising activities in the community. Right now, members are selling tickets for the annual Trip-of-the-Month raffle.

Only 350 tickets will be sold; each month one winner will be drawn at random and will win one of a dozen vacation trips, valued at up to $3,000. Two other winners will receive the purchase price of the ticket, $150. All winners will be eligible for subsequent drawings for a year.

Other fundraising activities are its annual golf tournament in June and the Great Duck Race in August. The group meets on Wednesday mornings at the United Methodist Church of Auburn on Park Street.
