GORHAM – Corey LaRue netted a hat-trick and had two assists as Edward Little defeated Gorham 9-4 in hockey action Wednesday evening.

Matt Nyholm tallied a pair of goals for the Eddies’ (1-2) win. Billy Brewster had a goal and two assists, while Derek Racine, Tyler Babb, and Chris Carver rounded out the offensive effort. Goaltender Adam Loudermilk made 19 saves to preserve the win.

The Gorham (0-2) effort was paced by Dave Gushee and Alex Dahms, who each scored a pair of goals.

Boys’ basketball

Gould 70, Pine Tree 50

BETHEL – T.L. Tutor poured 30 rebounds and hauled down eight rebounds to lead Gould to a 70-50 victory over Pine Tree Academy in boys’ basketball action Wednesday.

Ian Siekman chipped in for Gould (3-0) with 11 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks, while Scott Baribeau added eight points.

Pine Tree (0-2) was paced by Cody Lounder with an impressive 23-point performance, while Josh Duzotell added 12.

Gould jumped out to a 20-point advantage in the first quarter and was never challenged.
