Another strong storm was expected to bring rain Thursday to the Pacific Northwest.

The Upper Midwest and Great Lakes regions were to receive a quick shot of rain as a front quickly moves east.

Dry weather and mild temperatures were forecast for areas east of the Mississippi Valley.

Clear skies were forecast for the West Coast.

Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Wednesday ranged from a low of 3 degrees at Waverly, Colo., to a high of 83 degrees at Fort Myers, Fla.
