LEWISTON – SeniorsPlus needs volunteers to help accommodate seniors who receive support through the agency’s programs. Without its volunteers, SeniorsPlus would not be able to provide information and referral services, legal referral services, Meals on Wheels, seniors lunch program, senior centers, Getting Around Town program, Partners in Caring and caregiver support.

Giving as little as a few hours a week can make all the difference in the life of an older or disabled person who may be housebound and needs help grocery shopping or a hot meal delivered.

Volunteers are needed as dining center coordinators in Auburn and Wilton, drivers to deliver Meals on Wheels to shut-ins, grocery shoppers, handy men, and drivers to provide transportation services for those unable to get around on their own. Volunteer drivers are eligible for mileage reimbursement.

SeniorsPlus is the local area agency on aging for Androscoggin, Oxford and Franklin counties. To learn more, call Jennifer Warriner at SeniorsPlus at 795-4010 or 1-800-427-1241.
