HILL, N.H. (AP) – Someone shot an arrow into a Jack Russell terrier, killing the dog, who was found stuffed into a plastic road salt bag, the owners said Monday.
The MacArthur family said their 5-pound dog, Penny, was last seen alive on Friday. They said they believe they know who shot the dog, but police are still investigating.
The dog was described as friendly, who cuddled with the family’s two young boys and the cats.
“She was the best dog for our family,” Kirsten MacArthur said.
“She played with these kids all the time. She had lots of toys. They’d play with her and never hurt them and was never rough.”
