LISBON – The fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade students at Lisbon Community School had a visit from members of the Lewiston MAINEiacs hockey team on Nov. 30.
Defenseman Tom Michalik of Andover, Mass., Forward David Perron of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Defenseman Michael Ward of Shippagan, New Brunswick, and Forward Jakub Bundil of Trencin, Slovakia, spoke to students about the importance of goal setting, achieving goals, maintaining a healthy life style, balancing school work and extracurricular activities and maintaining a good attitude.
Players shared their personal goals and how they achieved balancing school work and extracurricular activities. Chris Manson, manager of promotions and merchandise of the Lewiston hockey club, accompanied the team.
Manson is working as a community partner with Lisbon Community Resource Coordinator Monica Millhime, and Lisbon Community School PTO Committee Chairwoman Beata Welsh in promoting the importance of teamwork, aspirations and education.
