Ministry service

NEWRY – The Sunday River Christian Ministry will hold an interdenominational candlelight service on Sunday, Christmas Eve, Dec. 24. The Rev. Don Coverdale will lead in praise, prayer and peace and Cynthia Libby will sing. The service will start at 7:30 p.m. in front of the fireplace on the third floor, Barker Base Lodge, Sunday River Ski Resort.

Yule celebration

WATERFORD – There were lots of carolers on the Waterford Common on Dec. 16. The Waterford Library provided the candles and music for about 60 people, including a Waterford Brownie Troop. Jane Morse led the group in the 30-minute sing and all walked over to the library afterward for refreshments and a visit from Santa. The lights on the evergreen tree at the common were put up by Todd and Tim Sawyer of Waterford.

Ice show trip

OXFORD – The Oxford Hills Travelers will attend the “Smucker’s Stars on Ice” show at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at the Portland Civic Center. The Cyr bus will leave at 4 p.m from the old Ames Plaza and will return at 11 p.m.

The cost of the show is $76 a person, including the cost of the bus and the ticket to the show. Supper, at the Maine Mall area, will not be included.

Send a $40 deposit to reserve a seat. Call Pat at 743-8513, then send a deposit to Pat Pulkkinen, 2 Hooper Ledge Road, South Paris ME 04281. Seating will be assigned in order of deposit received.

PARIS – Members of the Oxford Hills High School Class of 1997 will hold a 10-year reunion on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007.
