SALEM – Telstar overcame a seven-point deficit at the half to beat Mt. Abram 40-38 in MVC competition Thursday.

The Rebels (1-4) outscored the Roadrunners 13-8 and 13-9 in the final two quarters to earn their first win.

Ryan Kimball led Telstar with 12 points, while Louis Thornton added 11. Mt. Abram (2-3) got 10 from Wyatt Johnson and eight from Chris Smith.

Mountain Valley 75, Monmouth 17

RUMFORD – Andy Shorey dropped in 18 points and collected 11 rebounds as undefeated Mountain Valley (4-0) held winless Monmouth Academy (0-4) to just nine points in the first half to waltz off with a 75-17 victory in a boys’ basketball game Thursday night.

Justin Staires scored 14 points and was credited with four assists and four steals, while teammate Owen Jones hit for 12 and earned four assists.

For Monmouth, Nate Armstrong scored six points.

Maranacook 69, MCI 62

PITTSFIELD – Ryan Martin scored 29 points to lead Maranacook to a 69-62 victory over MCI in KVAC boys’ play Thursday.

Will Bardaglio added 13 points for the Black Bears (5-0), while Mike Poulin added six points, five steals and seven assists.

MCI (3-1) got 25 points from Benson Mensah-Bonsu and 15 from Patrick McGrady. Patrick Murray was also in double figures with 12.

Tied after three quarter, the Black Bears outgunned MCI 22-15 in the final stanza.

Livermore Falls 51, Hall-Dale 45

LIVERMORE – Mike Durrell erupted for 27 points and added 12 rebounds to lead Livermore Falls in a 51-45 win over Hall-Dale.

Leading by three at the half, the Andies’ aggressive defense limited the Bulldogs to six points in the third quarter en route to the win. Zach Keene and Jake Marceau chipped in with eight points apiece for Livermore Falls (2-3).

Tyler Cummings drained 12 points and James Henderson added eight for Hall-Dale (3-2).

Cony 72, Oxford Hills 57

SOUTH PARIS – Andrew Pullen took over in the paint in the second quarter and scored 19 of his game-high 36 points to lead Cony to a 72-57 triumph over Oxford Hills in KVAC action Thursday.

The Rams (4-1) also got 11 points from Brian Lui. The Vikings (2-3) were led by Ethan Sutton with 17 and Brandon Moffett with 10.

Cony had a 31-6 advantage in fouls in the game and sank 21 free throws to two for Oxford Hills.

Camden Hills 91, Oak Hill 52

CAMDEN HILLS – Paul Draper poured in 16 points as Camden Hills dominated over Oak Hill 91-52 in a boys’ basketball match-up played Thursday.

Christian Piere and Gordon Fischer each chipped in with 12 points apiece for Camden Hills (3-1), who built a 43-23 lead at half.

Oak Hill (0-4) was led by Ethan Gurette with 18 points, while Bronson Drury added 13.
