AUBURN – The Texas Barbeque Co. opened at 945 Center St. in October, offering authentic West Texas barbecue.

Owner Mark Bell was born in west Texas, while his wife and business partner, Terry, was born and raised in Maine on the island of Vinalhaven. They run the restaurant together. Bell uses secret spice combinations as well as recipes passed down through the generations of his family to create the menu. Terry Bell creates made-from-scratch desserts and side dishes to compliment the smoked meat barbecue.

The restaurant is open Tuesday-Saturday from 11 a.m.-8 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
