LEWISTON – Germaine Cote, 97, former Lewiston resident of Schooner Estates, Auburn died Monday, Jan. 1, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness.

She was born in St. Louis County of Levi, PQ, Canada, on Feb. 2, 1909, the daughter of Dari Talbot and the former Georgiana Beaudoin. She was the wife of J. William Cote who died on May 24, 1987.

She was a member of Holy Cross Church and Holy Cross Senior Citizens. She enjoyed sewing, reading and was an avid cooking enthusiast. Prior to her retirement she had worked for many years in the local textile industry.

She is survived by a half-sister, Simone Paradis, and her husband, Rosaire, of Plessisville PQ, Canada; and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Imelda Paradis; three brothers, Lorenzo, Ernest and Joseph Talbot; and a half-brother, Alphonse Talbot.
