PORTLAND – Lisbon Falls native Norm Karkos has been named the anchor of WMTW-TV’s morning and noon news shows, Channel 8 announced Tuesday.
Karkos will co-anchor the 5-7 a.m. program with Rachael Ruble and will anchor the noon-12:30 p.m. broadcast, the station announced in a news release.
His new assignment will begin in mid-January.
Winner of several state broadcasting awards, Karkos has been at WMTW for 15 years.
“Norm brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the morning anchor position,” said Ken Bauder, president and general manager of WMTW-TV.
