WALES – Current Houston Astros Pitcher and former All-American Tip Fairchild of Oak Hill High School, will be conducting a pitching clinic Sunday, January 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Oak Hill school gym. Welcome are players ages 8-15. Cost is $30.

WATERVILLE – The Alfond Youth Center is sponsoring its fifth annual Baseball Fantasy Trip from August 7-12, 2007. The cost of the 6-day Major League excursion is $745 and includes everything except supper.

The schedule is as follows: Tuesday, August 7, travel to Montreal; Wednesday, August 8, Toronto vs Yankees; Thursday, August 9, Philadelphia vs Florida; Friday, August 10, Orioles vs Red Sox; Saturday, August 11, Orioles vs Red Sox; Sunday, August 12, Mets vs Marlins.

Players sought

Coast to Coast Athletics is organizing teams of baseball players (ages 11-12, 13-15, 16-18) to represent the USA in international competition in the following destinations: Japan, Australia, Puerto Rico, Hawaii.

Outstanding amateurs, selected from as many as 46 states nationwide, will compete against international all-star teams in 2007.

Coast to Coast programs last 7-14 days. They consist of game action, intensive training and cultural excursions. Teams are managed by a staff of top college coaches and pro scouts.
