Volunteers are needed to help prepare for this year’s event
AUBURN – Plans for the ninth annual “Letters for Literacy” Scrabble Fest are in full swing, offering new challenges and prizes for Scrabble fans.
The fest will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 29, at the Hilton Garden Inn Ballroom.
The regular rules of Scrabble will apply with a few twists, including team competition and time limited rounds. Players collect pledges in order to participate, and these proceeds help provide literacy services for adults, families and English-language learners in Androscoggin County.
A few more volunteers are needed to help prepare for this year’s event. Those interested in joining the Scrabble Fest committee and those who would like to form a team to play in this year’s event should call at Literacy Volunteers-Androscoggin, 753-1772, or e-mail tahlia@megalink.net.
