RUMFORD – The River Valley Technology Center, the River Valley Growth Council and the River Valley Chamber of Commerce will offer another six-month series of Business Lunch and Learn Seminars. The first will be “Patent Basics.”

The seminar will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, at the River Valley Technology Center, 60 Lowell St., Rumford. The cost is $10 and includes lunch; River Valley Chamber of Commerce members pay $8. Prepayment is required; there will be no refunds issued. Preregistration is required.

The seminar will provide inventors and technology-based businesses with education and advice on the basics of patent protection. The seminar is recommended for anyone who has an innovative product or process, whether already in business or planning to start a business. Attendees will satisfy the prerequisite for obtaining services from the Maine Patent Program.

The presenter is Leonard Agneta, who is a patent attorney and serves as the director of the Maine Patent Program.
