AUBURN – More than 100 people gathered at the West Auburn Congregational Church on Dec. 17 for the annual Christmas pageant and carol sing.

To open the program, Carmen Lasagna played “What Child is This?” on the harp. That was followed by a reading given by the youth group of the church, under the direction of Dorothy Gatchell. Readers were Sam and Ben Armstrong, Rachel and Mark Raczynski, Emily and Teresa Ranucci, Deacon Lasagna and Josh Hiss-Quint.

The pageant was directed by Karen Ellis and was performed by a multi-generational cast.

To conclude the performance, the actors and audience formed a large circle around the sanctuary, lit candles and sang “Silent Night.”

Taking part were Peter Lasagna, Ben Armstrong and Chuck Buker, kings; angels, Jessie Hiss-Quint, Sydney Gilpatric, Molly Chicoine, Morgan Webster, Hannah Woodford, Maya Chism, Lauryn Lynn, Makaila Knight, Carmen Lasagna, Sadie Chism and Holly Gallup.

Also, Ron, Charlene and Baby Lynn as Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus; shepherds, Jed Hiss-Quint and Deacon Lasagna; readers, June Spear and Bill Hiss; George Buker, innkeeper; the Rev. John Ellis, shepherd; Maggie Ellis, Hayden Webster and Zack Gilpatric, sheep.
