Lewiston voters are some of the most numb people I know. Here we have Charles A. Soule, a perennial candidate for mayor. In five other past attempts to be mayor of Lewiston, Soule opposed the Bates Mill exit strategy of 2003, which cost the city $27 million (which could have reduced taxes), and has stated the city charter needed revision before they could even elect an interim mayor. He has also spoken for the senior citizens of the Multi-purpose Center so they would not lose their facilities, and represented the Oak Park Apartments before the council.

Lewiston seems to like smiley-face politicians who do not live in the same economic class as most of us. You do not hear from them except for election time, and then they all come out of the woodwork like cockroaches.
